Food
How do I dispose of my dry food bag?
Our dry food bags are made from natural and renewable materials, paper and PLA. PLA is a partly plant-based waterproof lining that protects the paper from the oils in the food. Our packaging is currently 85% paper / 15% PLA.
As the paper is compostable and PLA is industrially compostable, if your local council offers industrial composting, such as food waste collection, you can dispose of your bags this way. They must be composted in an industrial composting facility. Please do not home compost.
Due to the mixed materials of our packaging, our bags are not currently widely recycled in the UK. They are certified C/PAP 81, which means they can be recycled through specific schemes such as Terracycle.
If industrial composting facilities, food waste collection or suitable recycling schemes are not available, please dispose in your regular waste.
